SUMMER 2020: CANCELED

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic,
all Opera on the Lake activity has been canceled

Dear Patrons, Friends, and Artists

It is with great sadness that I say the uncertainties presented by the global pandemic have made it impossible for us to present our shows as planned. It looks like our concert at Lake Harriet as well as the entire The Merry Widow production will just have to wait.

I can’t tell you how excited I was to bring this show to life as well as take Opera on the Lake to some new places.  But the safety of our artists and audiences is of the utmost importance. It is my belief that the sacrifice now means we can come back full force next summer. Let’s all do our best to stay healthy so we can make it happen!

These are unprecedented and unpredictable times for everyone. We in the arts are facing some unique (and difficult) challenges. The answers to the questions of “how” and “when” to move forward are not at all clear, yet the “why” remains ever constant: to create and share magic moments with YOU.

I promise, OTL will be back as soon as it is safe and feasible.

Thank you all for your unwavering support and enthusiasm.

Stay Healthy, Stay Safe, and Stay in Touch!

With gratitude,

Anne Wieben
